A man who sexually assaulted a woman by grabbing her bottom then 'tried to laugh it off' has been jailed.

Andrew Cox-Young began the assault on his victim by touching the woman's chest and hair, a court heard.

The 38-year-old was asked to stop five times, prosecutor Paul Newcombe told Teeside Crown Court. But he ignored her pleas and continued his actions.

The victim later recounted to police: "I turned away. He came behind me and grabbed my bottom with some force. He made a noise as if he was aroused by it. I screamed and froze."

Cox-Young appeared in court for sentencing on Monday. Mr Newcombe explained that the defendant released his grip on the victim when she screamed.
