The sixth-seeded Forest Grove Vikings (22-3) will play host to the No. 27 Ida B. Wells Guardians (10-14) on Wednesday night in Round 1 of the Oregon 6A volleyball state championship playoffs .

Coach Jeff Leo’s Vikings won the Pacific Conference title with a perfect 12-0 conference record. They have won 18 of their past 19 matches, including their past seven.

The Guardians, coached by Mark Mendak, finished in fourth place in the Portland Interscholastic League with a 5-3 league mark.

Forest Grove and Ida B. Wells have not met this season.

Opening serve is set for 6:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, October 29, with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network .
