Oman will replace Pakistan at the Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup in Tamil Nadu after Pakistan withdrew from the tournament, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) said on Wednesday.
“Pakistan Hockey Federation had notified the International Hockey Federation (FIH) that they have not accepted the invitation to participate in the upcoming FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025, after their team had qualified for this event at the Asia Junior Cup last year,” the FIH said in a statement.
The FIH further said it had postponed the draw by nearly a month to give Pakistan time to seek government clearance for participation.
Pakistan were drawn in Group B with India, Chile and Switzerland, with Oman now taking that spot. Oman qualified as the next highest-ranked team from the Junior
