Zenith Sangma reflected on his family’s deep-rooted attachment to the Congress
In a big political shakeup in Meghalaya, Zenith M. Sangma, former minister and the brother of TMC leader and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, rejoined the Congress today after resigning from the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Joining the party in the presence of Congress president Vincent H Pala and others in the Garo Hills, Zenith Sangma reflected on his family’s deep-rooted attachment to the Congress.
He said, “Since my childhood, I have observed the strong attachment my parents had with the Congress party. They always told me that Congress is the only party capable of truly fighting communal forces.”
He added that his parents had advised him never to part ways with the Congress.
