MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Vermont's Attorney General Charity Clark has officially joined a multi-state coalition suing the Trump Administration for suspending SNAP benefits, which the AG describes as "illegal and it is cruel".
The coalition, which includes three governors and 22 other attorneys general, reportedly argues that "suspending SNAP benefits in this manner is both contrary to law and arbitrary and capricious under the Administrative Procedure Act".
This announcement comes amid the ongoing Government Shutdown, which began October 1.
Agencies received a letter from the USDA October, stating that there will be insufficient funds for full November SNAP benefits if the shutdown continues. Last Friday Clark signed a letter alongside over a dozen other Attorneys General, asking
