KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - Kinston police are sharing new details about yesterday’s deadly shooting.

Police say they were called to 405 Manning Street around 10:45 a.m. yesterday for a report of a shooting .

When they got there, officers found 31-year-old Ryechic Harper suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite life-saving measures, Harper died at the scene.

Witnesses told police that 21-year-old Quandarius Rawl was responsible for the shooting.

Police say Rawl left the area before police arrived and dropped his gun in a wooded area near the 600 block of Pollock Street.

About 45 minutes after the shooting, police say Rawl called 911 and voluntarily turned himself in.

Detectives found his gun, which police say was reported stolen out of Rocky Mount.

Rawl has been charged with first-degre
