CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A rather bizarre situation Wednesday afternoon led to a crash involving a school bus in Craven County Wednesday afternoon, according to the NC Highway Patrol.
Troopers tell WITN that traffic was slowing down on Highway 70 East by Riverdale because there were at least two pigs on the road. Troopers say a vehicle behind the school bus didn’t slow down enough and collided with the back of the bus.
The trooper says two people in the vehicle and one on the bus had minor injuries.
The person driving the vehicle that crashed into the bus has been cited.
The trooper was not able to tell us exactly why the pigs were there, speculating, though, that they may have gotten out of a nearby pen. It’s also unclear what happened to the pigs. One of them was believed to have
