TOLEDO, Ohio — As Hurricane Melissa devastates Jamaica, a Toledo mother says she’s been living in fear for her two daughters as they remain trapped in the middle of the Category 5 storm.
Sabrina Brown’s daughters, Tonette and Tonae Crayton, left Saturday for a short vacation in Montego Bay to celebrate Tonette’s 26th birthday. What was supposed to be a joyful weekend quickly turned into a terrifying ordeal as the hurricane made landfall and crippled the island .
“I’m just overwhelmed, devastated and so scared,” Brown said. “I’ve been crying, crying, praying for better days to come ahead of them.”
