LAWRENCE — The preseason honors for Kansas basketball guard Darryn Peterson continue to roll in, as Wednesday it was revealed the freshman had made the USA TODAY Sports preseason All-America team’s second team.
Peterson has long been considered not just someone who’d lead KU this season or be one of the best freshmen in the nation, but simply one of the best players overall. He’s in contention to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He’s capable of guiding the Jayhawks to Big 12 Conference and national success in the months to come, too, before that draft takes place.
