As of right now the country is in a really tough spot. Not only is the federal government shutdown, affecting the paychecks for millions of Americans, now it looks like one of the nation's largest employers is cutting vearlyover 30,000 jobs.

Amazon announced earlier this week they would be firing 27,000 of their corporate employees. They say that it is just a small number of their over 1.5 million total employees, but a decent chunk of their corporate staff.

What's the reason behind these layoffs? Amazon says that it's eliminating managers because they currently have too many of them. They also said in an official statement that they will use AI to innovate their current workspaces to eliminate jobs they don't need to be filled by a human.
