LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A new superintendent for Logan County Schools has been appointed, according to the West Virginia Department of Education.

Dr. Sonya White will serve as the permanent superintendent of Logan County Schools starting November 1.

Dr. White is succeeding Dr. George Aulenbacher, who has served as LCS superintendent since July 1, 2025.

She has served as the WV Department of Education’s Deputy State Superintendent of Schools since July 2023.
