A new search was launched Wednesday in New London in connection with a decades-old unsolved murder of a 27-year-old Sunapee woman, the Attorney General’s Office said.

Members of the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit and New Hampshire Fish and Game began a search in the area of the Esther Currier Wildlife Management Area in New London in connection with the 1978 unsolved homicide of Catherine “Cathy” Millican.

“The search poses no danger to the public and is focused on locating physical evidence,” the Attorney General’s Office said in a statement.

The search coincides with the 47th anniversary of Millican’s death. In an effort to generate new leads, the Cold Case Unit also released several previously unreleased photographs of the victim.
