BELOIT, Wis. (WKOW) — Commander Schonella Stewart is set to become the next police chief for the city of Beloit.
The Beloit Police and Fire Commission has extended a conditional offer to Stewart, which she accepted, according to a press release.
Stewart has 19 years of law enforcement experience in Oak Park, Illinois. In her role as commander, she performed a variety of administrative, operation and fiscal oversight of the patrol, investigations and community policing units.
She has held various other law enforcement positions, including patrol officer and detective. She also served as a homicide task force member, Internet Crimes Against Children task force member, FBI hijacking task force member and human trafficking task force member.
