COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The City Council approved the 2026 budget for Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) on Tuesday.
According to CSU, the budget is $2.2 billion, a 23% increase from 2025.
CSU said the budget increase does not mean rates will increase 23%. City Council approved a rate increase over a five-year period in 2024.
Utilities said 2026 marks two years of that rate case, with a base rate adjustment of about 6.5%, which equals a bill increase of $14.87 per month for a typical four-service residential customer.
“We know that rate increases are not everyone’s favorite, that we are aware of those things and we want to make sure that our customers understand that there are programs out there if your struggling to pay your utility bill reach out to the utilities call us at 44
