CHARLESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A jury found a Mississippi County, Missouri man guilty of child sex crimes Tuesday afternoon.
Following a two-day trial, August Porter was found guilty on 12 felony counts, including first and second-degree statutory sodomy, third-degree child molestation and endangering the welfare of a child on October 28.
The case was co-tried by Mississippi Co. Prosecuting Attorney Claire Poley and Cape Girardeau County Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Killen.
According to the Mississippi Co. Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the charges were consolidated from both Mississippi and Cape Girardeau Counties so that all evidence and counts could be heard in a single trial.
The jury’s decision came after hearing testimony from two minor victims.
