Connecticut Children's in Hartford has received a $50 million gift from philanthropist Tom Golisano.

The donation is the largest in the hospital's history, according to a news release from Connecticut Children's.

“This extraordinary gift from Tom Golisano ensures that children in every corner of our state have access to the highest level of pediatric care,” said Jim Shmerling, President & CEO of Connecticut Children’s. “It represents a defining moment for our organization, for our patients, and for Connecticut.”

Golisano is the founder of Paychex, Inc.
