EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Edmonson County community is joining together to answer a call for its neighbors in need.

Edmonson County judge-executive Ronald Scott Lindsey shared a message to social media encouraging food donations amid an ongoing government shutdown, which has lasted nearly a month as of Wednesday.

Recently, the shutdown has brought uncertainty surrounding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, or SNAP, and how that could impact families’ abilities to put dinner on the table in November.

With next month only days away, multiple communities are having a call to action.
