POLK COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Inman Campobello Water District announced that crews are repairing a water main that broke Wednesday morning.

Officials said that customers in the following areas would be affected:

North of the Green Creek Fire Department

Highway 9 area in Derbyshire

Polk County Schools

Tryon Equestrian Center

Repairs are expected to take between six and eight hours as of 8:20 a.m.

Due to the water main break, Polk Central Elementary, Sunny View Elementary and Polk County Middle School dismissed at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. School district officials said that all other schools would remain on a normal schedule.

District officials added that when service is restored, a boil water advisory will be in effect on Thursday. Students are asked to bring filled water bott
