An officer shot and injured one dog while responding to a neighbor dispute

Two people have been arrested in connection to a dog attack on an officer.

Port Huron Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Young said two suspects are scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, Oct. 30.

A Port Huron Police Department officer shot and injured a dog on Tuesday, Oct. 27, while responding to a call about a dispute between neighbors. According to Young the officer was talking to one of the parties when two dogs reportedly became aggressive and charged at the officer.

Young said the officer fired his gun at the dogs, hitting and injuring one of them. That dog was taken to St. Clair County Animal Control on Tuesday. The officer reportedly suffered minor injuries but did not seek medical treatment
