OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is scheduled to address SNAP benefits at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as time is set to run out for thousands of Oklahomans.
The pressure is building as Governor Stitt weighs the state's savings potentially being used to bail out the federal program in which Stitt has made clear states cannot afford programs like SNAP saying, "We have about 3.5 billion, so we're looking at everything. We want to make sure Oklahomans are taken care of through this Schumer shutdown, which is what I call it. But Congress needs to act. I just want to be really clear that this is a federal program."
Governor Stitt continued saying he is open to options if worse come to worse.
