After a week of storms which saw wet weather sweep across Australia, Trick-or-Treaters will need to brace themselves for a gloomy Halloween on Friday.

Sky News Weather Senior Meteorologist Rob Sharpe said those hoping to dress to impress with spooky costumes should factor in showers and thunderstorms as the recent wild weather continues throughout the week.

Although the storm threat eased overnight on Wednesday, it's expected to pick up again on Thursday morning "targeting the Capricornia and the north-east corner of New South Wales, where there's potential for severe storms in those areas with more regular thunderstorms elsewhere out through the east", Sharpe said.
