Brown County announced Tuesday night that it will be completely departing the Western Indiana Conference to rejoin the Mid-Hoosier Conference.
The Eagles had pulled their football team out of the WIC this season to play in the Mid-Indiana Conference, which includes four Mid-Hoosier members Edinburgh, North Decatur and South Decatur along with Milan and Switzerland County.
The Mid-Hoosier also includes non-football playing schools Hauser, Morristown, Southwestern (Shelbyville) and Waldron. BC was a founding member of the Mid-Hoosier in 1964 until leaving for the WIC in 1999-2000.
Edgewood athletic director Jerry Bland said the league had anticipated the move but hoped to keep BC on many of their schedules.
