A Mesa police officer was hospitalized, and another person is dead after a shooting incident involving officers early Wednesday morning. According to officials with the Mesa Police Department, the incident occurred near Sossaman and Ray roads around 2 a.m. Officials say they were first called to the area to investigate reports of a man who appeared to be intoxicated and trespassing on a property.
