ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills running back James Cook III has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the team's Week 8 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Cook ran for 216 yards on 19 carries, and scored two touchdowns in the team's 40-9 win on Sunday. This is Cook's third time earning Offensive Player of the Week honors, and his first of the 2025 season.

Cook's performance was the fifth time since 1990 that a running back had at least 200 rushing yards in under 20 rushing attempts.

His numbers rank as the most rushing yards by a Buffalo Bills since O.J Simpson's 273-yard performance in Week 12 of the 1976 season. Cook is also the third player in franchise history to gain over
