Stevenson’s absence comes after the Patriots stocked up on running backs this week behind him, rookie TreVeyon Henderson and Terrell Jennings. Rushawn Baker and Jonathan Ward signed to their practice squad Tuesday. The Pats also have a locker set up for veteran D’Ernest Johnson, who was released from the Cardinals’ practice squad this week. He made prior stops with the Browns and Jaguars.
