FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots are reshaping their running back room, adding a veteran to the practice squad and elevating a younger player.
The roster shuffling also comes on a day when Rhamondre Stevenson missed practice.
According to a source, the Patriots are signing running back Terrell Jennings from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. The team is also signing veteran running back D’Ernest Johnson to the practice squad.
The Patriots also signed running backs Rushawn Baker and Jonathan Ward to the practice squad on Tuesday.
These moves come as the Patriots were missing Stevenson at Wednesday’s practice. The team will release their injury report later tonight.
Johnson, who practiced with the Patriots on Wednesday, is a veteran of seven NFL seasons. The 29-year-old previously
