NEW YORK (PIX11) — A dry fish product sold nationwide has been recalled for still having its internal organs inside, according to officials.
Dry Ghoinnya Fish, packaged and distributed by New Hoque & Sons Inc., in Maspeth, has been recalled after routine sampling by New York State inspectors revealed the fish was not properly eviscerated before processing.
Uneviscerated fish are illegal to sell in New York due to the possibility of a botulism poisoning outbreak. Botulism poisoning can cause dizziness, blurred vision, difficulty in breathing, muscle weakness and other symptoms.
The Dry Ghoinnya Fish comes in a 10-12 pound clear plastic bag marked with an expiration date of May 19, 2025, stamped at the bottom.
The UPC is 908172635412.
Customers can return them to the place of purchase f
