LIVINGSTON, N.J. (PIX11) – A New Jersey man is accused of strangling his girlfriend and dumping her body near the Cedar Hill Golf Course on Oct. 7, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officials said 35-year-old Andres Calvachi-Paz allegedly admitted to killing 28-year-old Dayana Chisaguano Maleza inside their Newark apartment. The fight stemmed from Maleza wanting to break up with Calvachi-Paz, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors alleged Calvachi-Paz then put Maleza’s body in his car and drove around for several hours before dumping it in Livingston. He’s also accused of pretending to be Maleza after her death by sending text messages from her cellphone, making it appear as though she was still alive.
