FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - In honor of California Farmer and Farmworker Month, the Central California Food Bank is having a match campaign, wherein every dollar donated goes twice as far.
California table grape growers are matching all donations made to the Central California Food Bank through the end of the month, up to $15,000.
Co-Ceo Kym Dildine says this effort is vital in providing nutritious meals to farmworker families across Fresno, Tulare and Kern counties.
"We're really excited to ensure that neighbors have access to incredible California grown grapes and so many other fresh fruit options through this partnership and everyone can make a difference," Dildine said.
As SNAP benefits remain unfunded through November, Dildine says the fundraiser is timely.
