COLUMBUS — Residents could soon see significant changes to Ohio’s local property tax system as the Senate begins consideration of several measures that cleared the House in recent weeks.
The Senate Local Government Committee held hearings on five property tax-related House bills on Tuesday and Wednesday, including legislation co-sponsored by Rep. Jim Hoops (R., Napoleon) that would authorize a property tax credit for property owners in a school district on the 20-mill property tax floor.
