The fourth-seeded Northland Prep Academy Spartans girls soccer team defeated the No. 5-seeded Show Low Cougars, 4-0, to advance through the play-in round and into the semifinals of the fall state tournament on a windy day at Lumberjack Stadium.

Having played twice before this season, the Cougars and Spartans were familiar with each other. It was clear in the first half that Show Low had a game plan to put a stop to the host's offense, which had scored 44 goals in its past five games.
