NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The operators for the Norfolk casino were granted their gaming license by unanimous decision from the Virginia Lottery Board Wednesday afternoon.

The Norfolk casino must now open by Nov. 15 to comply with state law.

Back in August, Boyd Gaming and the Pamunkey Indian Tribe announced their installment of a temporary casino named The Interim Gaming Hall.

The Interim will be used until the permanent casino resort opens in late 2027.

The casino will be a giant tent located along Park Avenue and feature over 130 slot machines. Casino operators say the gaming hall is slated to be open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
