Will a lack of support for the federal Liberal budget lead to an election next week? It’s possible, but then again, a snap election is always possible in a minority Parliament.

The budget will be tabled in the House of Commons next Tuesday, and the framing of that budget has been all over the map.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has used terms such as austerity to describe the budget. The NDP has said they need to see the budget before deciding whether to support or oppose it but wouldn’t back an austerity budget.
