MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The City of Memphis is launching a new blight initiative. This new initiative will be spearheaded by the city's Community Enhancement Division, formed over the summer. Melanie Neal, Director for the Community Enhancement Division, told FOX13 crews will focus on cleaning up Lamar Avenue from Park Avenue to Winchester Road.

"We chose Lamar because it is so heavily traveled. Everybody in the city at one point in time has traveled down Lamar," said Neal.

FOX13 got a first-hand look at the cleanup efforts. Code enforcement inspectors surveyed a mobile home park that has received a lot of complaints about issues not being fixed by the property owner.
