PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has directed $1.8 million in unspent COVID-19 relief funds to provide emergency food assistance, following the suspension of federal aid programs during the government shutdown.

On Wednesday, the governor’s office announced that $1.5 million of those funds would be used to support food banks across the state, and that Arizona is partnering with the Food Bank Network to support impacted families.
