Budgam, Oct 29 :Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Budgam by-poll Aga Syed Mohsin on Wednesday filed a formal complaint against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct.
The complaint stems from Abdullah’s recent announcement in the Assembly about starting temporary classes for a National Law University in Budgam’s Ompura area.
Mohsin alleged that Abdullah’s announcement constitutes a clear breach of the Model Code of Conduct, which prohibits announcements or promises of new projects or benefits during the election period.
The BJP candidate claimed that Abdullah’s statement was intended to influence voters in the Budgam constituency by projecting imminent developmental benefits.
Speaking to ANI, Mohsin said,
