Srinagar, Oct 29: The Jammu and Kashmir government has stepped up efforts to develop and promote tourist destinations across the Union Territory, with a focus on boosting eco-tourism and pilgrimage tourism. Several locations have been earmarked for infrastructure development and beautification to attract more visitors.

The announcement was made in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday in response to a question by MLA Sunil Kumar about plans to improve trekking routes and pilgrim facilities at Machail Shrine and surrounding areas.

Officials informed the house that multiple trekking and hiking routes in Kishtwar district are being promoted, including the General Zorawar Singh Victory Trek, Bimalnag–Nagni–Devhadh–Kidhru–Kishtwar route, and several others connecting Gulabgarh
