For Jared Bell, it’s deeply personal.

“This isn't how you treat U.S. diplomats,” he told the News4 I-Team.

Bell spent years working for the U.S. Agency for International Development. It was his dream job – one he’d wanted since he was young. He worked in Bosnia and then in Nicaragua, helping America’s international development efforts abroad.

While in Bosnia, Bell met and fell in love with Muamer Sadinlija. The two were married in an Austrian palace during the pandemic in 2021.

“It was absolutely beautiful,” Bell recalled.
