ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Atlanta Dogwood Festival will return in April, organizers announced Wednesday, months after saying the festival was “at grave risk” if they didn’t raise $250,000 by Nov. 1.
In August, organizers said they needed to raise the money to avoid closing just short of the iconic festival’s 90th anniversary.
The small nonprofit that puts on the festival has had to cope with serious financial losses since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reduced sponsorship and higher production costs.
