The Houston Astros are coming off one of their worst performances in recent memory. Injuries played a huge part in their failure to reach the postseason for the first time since the 2016 season.

After the season, the club parted ways with its head athletic trainer, Jeremiah Randall. He had been with the team since 2015, but the front office could not go through with renewing his contract after key players missed significant time and some injuries were misdiagnosed, like Yordan Alvarez's hand injury of Kyle Tucker's shin injury from 2024.
