ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - There’s a Halloween chill in the air just in time for all the costumes and candy Friday night!

As the last-minute preps are underway, don’t let talking to your kids about staying safe slip through the cracks.

“There’s a safety you think about before your kid even goes out. Then there’s the safety when they’re out, actually in the process of getting all their goodies and trick-or-treating,” Dr. Maneesha Agarwal, a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory School of Medicine professor, said. “Finally, you have to think about their safety when they come home.”

To start with, don’t let your kids go trick-or-treating alone. It’s better with a group or with parents, Agarwal said.
