FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Inside all five high schools in Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS), you’ll find an after-school program where students learn to solve problems through peace, instead of violence.

“It’s really given me a space to like to have the freedom to discover myself and work on myself, whether that’s things that happened in the past, present, and that will happen in the future.” Edith McComas.

Wayne High School sophomore Edith McComas calls joining the Peacemaker Academy this summer “life-changing”.

That’s the goal leaders have for the program.

“Our mission is to cultivate a community of non-violence through relationships and education.” Rev. Angelo Mante.
