LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A Laredo man was arrested on theft charges after allegedly scamming a former acquaintance out of hundreds of dollars, police said.
22-year-old Raul Esqueda was served with an arrest warrant on October 22, charging him with theft of property, a Class B misdemeanor.
The case began on March 23, when a Laredo Police officer responded to a possible scam report at the 1500 block of Salinas Ave. The complainant told police he had previously assisted Esqueda and allowed him to live with him, but then cut off all communication.
An investigation revealed the complainant met with Esqueda and gave him $110. On another occasion, he was asked to send $200 to another person.
