TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) - The Governor's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has now made its way into state universities, taking a deeper dive into all facets of college and university operations and their spending habits.
DeSantis was at The University of South Florida Wednesday to shine a spotlight on state university spending habits. Under an executive order back in February of this year, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the creation of the Florida DOGE task force.
Not only did he plan to shine a light onto local government spending, but also state colleges and universities, even sending letters out to university presidents, demanding they share budget breakdowns, staffing, and closure of all Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs. The governor warned of on-site visits
