ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) - It will be a stormy end to October in the Twin Tiers with drenching rain, followed by a long-lasting burst of chilly air. There is a definite change in the upcoming pattern.

We are talking about cooler conditions and lots of rain and gusty wind as a coastal storm heads our way.

Let's start by talking about the rain that is coming in our overnight hours. The coastal storm means to drop about 1-2" of rain in the Twin Tiers with north by northeast winds that will top 25-30mph. Now is a great time to take in any Halloween decorations so that they don't become projectiles. Also make sure that the storm grates and curbs near your home are clear of leaves as they may add to localized flooding.
