BEMIDJI — After each college hockey season, respective programs are tasked with filling the holes left by graduated players.

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team saw a pair of blueliners graduate last spring. Four-year defenseman Kendra Fortin finished her career with the Beavers. Meredith Killian, a graduate student, played just one year with BSU after transferring from Union.

Killian and Fortin played big minutes for Bemidji State, with Killian earning high-leverage special teams shifts as well. However, with their stalls left barren after last season, head coach Amber Fryklund needed reinforcements.
