SCOTT, La. (KLFY) -- City officials in Scott are holding a public meeting tonight to update residents on the progress of key drainage projects aimed at improving water flow and protecting neighborhoods.
The meeting is being held at the Scott Event Center. It will cover the past, current, and future status of the city's drainage improvement plan, developed in 2020, which includes projects focused on cleaning ditches and improving water flow in flood-prone areas.
Current initiatives include a Hazard Mitigation Grant Project and a Louisiana Watershed Initiative plan that could introduce a new retention pond.
Scott Mayor, Jan-Scott Richard, said officials are looking at what can be done to better protect neighborhoods and businesses.
