LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - On Oct. 30th, 2022, Sergeant Logan Medlock with the London Police Department was struck and killed by a drunk driver.

The driver, Casey Byrd, was charged with murder in 2024.

While some community members believe justice was served, others say the husband, father, and dedicated officer’s loss will never get easier.

Hobie Daugherty, LPD’s public information officer said they aim to honor Sgt. Medlock’s life on the anniversary of his death annually.

“Sergeant Medlock was a great man. You know, he was a God-fearing man, but you know, he really loved being a police officer as well. He showed that every day that he came to work,” Daugherty said.
