SWAN RIVER – Swan River RCMP say a traffic stop early Wednesday morning led to the seizure of more than 250 grams of methamphetamine.
Police conducted the stop at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Main Street, pulling over a truck with three female occupants.
Officers noticed open liquor inside the vehicle and arrested the 34-year-old driver.
During the search, the driver reportedly became belligerent and was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.
RCMP say the search uncovered a zip lock bag containing over 250 grams of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value between $15,000 and $25,000.
The 34-year-old driver faces charges of trafficking, assault on a police officer, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
The 48-year-old passenger was also charged with trafficking.
