LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - After several years of waiting, multiple phases of construction, and $213 million, officials announced the completion of the Beecher Terrace revitalization project.
“I have little kids myself. Seeing them be able to grow up in the community I grew up in, it’s great to see it like this,” Charles Tandy, an employee and former resident at Beecher Terrace, said during the Metro’s announcement Tuesday.
It’s certainly an improvement for the neighborhood that was originally constructed in 1940. The sprawling complex looks up-to-date and features a number of amenities needed for a thriving and healthy community.
While the outside has a shiny new look, many of the old root problems that prompted the project remain.
